Major Events in the Immigrant Rights Movement
Below are two timelines that work hand in hand. The immigrant rights movement began when policies were put into place. Some policies include: barring immigrants from entering the country, racial motives to bar certain nationalities from obtaining citizenship and setting harsh conditions that cause undocumented people to go into hiding with the fear of deportation. The immigrant rights movement develops based on the legislations passed, people feel empowered by the negative changes and use non-violent tactics in order to have the Government address it.
