Krutika KhatriHi there!
Thank you for stopping by on my page! I am currently a student at Baruch College. I am majoring in Political Science and minoring in Law and Policy. My long term goals are to attend law school and work in Intellectual Property and Trademark. I currently interning at Viacom as a Music and Media Licensing Intern. In my free time, I enjoy Indian Classical dancing and being President for Baruch's Hindu Student Association. I decided to focus my research on the Immigrant Rights Movement because I am a U.S. Citizen daughter to immigrant parents. They came to the United States in the late 90s in search for a life that would be struggle-free. They received the opposite. My parents worked odd jobs before being laid off. Money became a scarce commodity in my household because there were points where they could not receive employment due to their status'. For years, I had to remain in the shadows with my parents in fear that their secret would be discovered. I feared that I would come back home from school one day only to find out that they were not home waiting for me. This movement hits home for me because I know what it is like to live everyday in fear. I know what it is like to remain in the shadows and I know what it is like to struggle everyday due to immigration status. |
